Army Navy - band of the week

I interviewed Justin Kennedy before Army Navy's debut came out. He's a sweet guy and I'm a fan of the album. Now that the albums out for like, how many months, we finally put the damn interview up. Check it out HERE or HERE and be sure to pick up the Spring issue of BRM which should be out... soon. Common and Attack of the Show are on the covers, plus much more inside. Release party is MARCH 5th in Williamsburg at Public Assembly. Peelander-Z is gonna be there. Look at the picture of them below. They look like the Village People if it was Greenwich Village and they were raped in a Crayola factory. Need I say more?

Black Light Burns & Combichrist

Me and Lilly went to see Combichrist and Black Light Burns at Irving Plaza. Yes, it's Irving Plaza, not "The Fillmore." Live Nation can rot in hell. Anyway, the lovely people at Reybee Productions hooked it up and we had a blast. Check out my concert review HERE and gander at a lovely (and grainy) photo I took of Wes Borland:

The Bird and the Bee

If you anxious to read my gems of musical wisdom and can't wait for the issue, there's a review on The Bird and the Bee's new album that got cut from the issue. It's not my best work, but you can read it HERE if you so choose.

Beyond Race Winter Issue!!

I've been MIA for a while because I've been slaving away with the rest of the staff on the new issue. Common will be on the front cover and G4's Attack of the Show will be on the back. There, I spilled the beans. The actual inside of the issue is more interesting, no offense to G4 or Common. I don't want to give too much away, so you'll just have to pick up a copy at a Barnes & Noble near you. It should be out in February (SHOULD BE). In the meantime, check out our ugly yet up-to-date website. There's a lovely new column by Cielo Gato called Southern Sweetgrass where she shares her views in order to break misconceptions on the Urban American Indian. It's really exciting to have such and interesting column on our website, so check it out.
